On Tuesday June 22, 2010 Aletha Moore tried out a new hair stlye for the day of the wedding. I really liked it. She is such an awesome hair stylist.

Bridal Shower 2010

On Saturday June 12, 2010 I had the most fabulous time at my Bridal Shower. It was great! My cousins, Kacie and Kelle, came all the way from out of town. My Aunt Janet, one of my Dad's best friends came through. Shout out to Danny and Tiffany and Tayler Rhea~ Yall did ya thing. My My did the favors! And Kenya put her foot in my cake;-) Words can not express how muc fun I had. All of my very best friends were there. I got a ton of great gifts and many sexy outfits. I can't wait to see everyone in a few more days!

The Dresses are in and the invitations are out!
Thank the Lord, the dresses are in! They look awesome. I am so excited. School is over and the summer has started. Ken and I will be going to get our marriage licence next Wednesday. It is suggested that we get these at least 30 days before the wedding.

The Bridal Shower will be held on Saturday June 12th @ 4pm. Shout out to my bridal party, they have really been holding me down. The invitations finally went out. And they look hot. I just pray they arrive to all their destinations secure and on time.

CousinTakeOver 2010

On April 4-6, the Fletcher, Fore, Striggles, Toles families all gathered in Savannah, GA for the 1st ever CousinTakeOver. This was the first time my family met Ken. I am so blessed to have such an awesome family.

Traffic was horrible getting to SAV. On the night we arrived we watch Kacie and Brian's wedding DVD. It got me pumped, cause our date is almost here. On Saturday, we hit the streets... We went to Savannah State (this is where Kellie is head cheer coach), Tybee Island, Lady and Sons, and a great haunted ghost tour. The weather was fabulous and the pollen count was not too high.

We had a blast and can't wait to see everybody in July!

Trying Times

I know it has been a while since we have posted anything, but times have been rough. The darkest hour is just before dawn. We know all will be fine. We have been trying to find a good, yet affordable caterer. Because our style will be so relaxed we knew we could get away with a very light lunch menu. We shall see.

We can't believe that the big day is only 4months away. I know that it will fly by. I can't wait till that day. On last Monday, mommy and me went to Bed, Bath, and Beyond to set up the registry. It was fun setting it up. And Kacie and Brian got a $25 referral for us going:-)

Christmas Time is Here!

Today, Ken and I went to see the ASO(Atlanta Symphony Orchestra) perform a holiday show. The Suggs mailed us the tickets. This was so sweet of them. They are an awesome couple. We had a great time. I love the fact that Ken loves the fact that I LOVE CHRISTMAS.

On December 25 will mark an entire year since we got engaged. I am so ready to be his FOREVER. We were saying today how fast these next few months will go. We met with the DJ (http://www.goyedjs.com/) great guy and a World Changer. Even though the reception is at the Fellowship Hall, I really feel that he is gonna keep the party rocking.

Jumping the Gun!

Alright, the buzz of the Holiday had me on a buying frenzy. I was going on to all these different website trying to snag as many deals as a I could. I came upon Oriental Trading Company and fell in love. They were running all kinds of sales because of Black Friday.

Well, I knew that my date of July 17th (originally July 3rd at noon) had not yet been approved by our church. I bought almost $100 dollars worth of stuff. But the thing that hurt was the date oriented items. I bought toasting flutes with engraved dates of July 17th, 2010 on them and "save the date" cards with dates plastered all over them. TRASH IT ALL! The date has been moved back to July 3, 2010.

The church should be able to confirm sometime in February, but I have the World's BEST wedding coordinator and she is always helping me stay calm. It will all be ok she says. Mrs. Brenda is the Best! Ken really wanted July 3rd at noon so I guess if he wants it he can get it!LOL. Just ready to hop this broom...

What's in a DRESS

A few weeks ago, Alexis (MOH) and Janis (MIL) went to check out some dress options. When I hit the door of New Natalie's I was amazed at how many selections that I had to choose from. I felt overwhelmed, but had my MOH by my side. We had a blast! MCCCuNE came through and we all got to show some of that AKA love.

The dresses are from the Alfred Sung collection. The Shrimp and Clover colors of our wedding will be well represented by these dresses. The guys will have cream suits, with green vests. Im getting excited.

The Sheer Stress of it ALL

Recently, I have been having a hard time with my words. I totally jacked up a great relationship between the world's best photographer and myself. I may have overstated our budget to the reception hall of our dreams. All of this as a result of my words. I have asked for forgiveness from my photographer, and have truly prayed to God to take the pain away. I don't like the feeling of wrong doing on my part. And I am the first to admit when I am wrong. But for some reason I felt dreadful because it had to do with our wedding day. The reception hall may or may not work out but either way it will be a great day where ever the reception takes place. After a great Bible study session on Wednesday, I now see the power that a person holds with their tongue. I know what the tongue can do to damage, I must now learn to harness the power of the tongue for good!

Engagement PartA

On Sunday Oct. 25th, 2009 friends and family came out to Ken's mother's house to celebrate our engagement. It was soo much fun. It was a great culminating event for the already great weekend that I was having. SpelHouse Homecoming 2009!

We were able to introduce our wedding party. Many were present and ready to take their shirts. We are so blessed to have such a great support system behind us. We are so blessed:-)

Some Progression

I think we found the perfect spot for the reception. It is just our style and $. I was so inspired by my cousin's wedding in Sept that I knew I had to do what I had to do to make this day special. I met with the owner and he is an Omega. He said that he wanted to give me and Ken a deal because of Daddy. That meant so much to me. I will be saving a lot in order to pay, but I know it will all be worth it.

YEAH! WE GOT SOME DATES

Today marked are final pre-martial counseling sessions. It came as a total surprise. We love our counselors- the Smiths- they are awesome. We were able to choose three dates and the wedding ministry will get back with us. July 17, 2010-September 18, 2010- October 9, 2010. I love July because I have always liked the # 7 and as a teacher I will be off during the summer months. September is cool because the weather may be cooler, and I would like to follow in the footsteps of my cousins the "Fore Fam". Their wedding rocked and it was all for the right reasons and Kacie didn't look that hot on that September day. And October, because the weather should be cooler and the leaves outside should be beautiful. Whenever it happens it will be with the love of my life.. Kenneth Striggles, Jr.

NC to GA- Family First

Well, I had one of the best times of my life. It is sad but I have been to more funerals than weddings in my lifetime. But this one wedding helped close the gap. Kacie and Brian were wed on Saturday Sept. 19, 2009 at 3pm. It was truly a celebration. I was able to meet my family. I was not just introduced as a friend or a co-worker but finally as FAMILY. They are my blood, we all share the same lineage.. Even down to the DNA we are the same. Kris was not able to make it, but I know he was there in spirit. I told him that there will be plently of times in this lifetime that he will be able to share with his sisters and family. The drive was long, but soo worth every mile. I am pooped but can't wait till this time next year.. Fore's here we come..

Going to NC to see my bestest cousin!

Today is the eve before my bestest cousin gets married. I feel so close to her. We are just months away in age, we smile alike, our hair is alike, we have the same innocence about everything alike.... We got engaged like a year apart and we are now getting married a year apart. I hope they like my gift. Oh, we also pledged at the same time on the same weekend... She was in NC in JAN. 2008 doing the very same thing I was doing in GA. She and her family I love very much! And this drive is sooo worth every mile....

Like a Virgin
